The MacLaurin Ecumenical Chaplaincy exists to enrich the life of Te Whare Wananga o Tamaki Makaurau, the University of Auckland and its community. It serves the whole University community, working with others for the common good of society, integrity of creation and justice for all.
The Chaplains facilitate and support many of the 16 different Christian clubs and societies that are affiliated to the University of Auckland. Some of these are churches like Uni Church, while others are student led groups like TSCF (five groups including Christian Union), Navigators and Student Life. There is a chapel that seats 100 plus and an associated hall with space for up to fifty students to study - with adjoining offices, kitchen and toilets. |

'I’m John, and I lead the team here at Chaplaincy VUW. So much of my story has to do with University life – I studied here at VUW, and returned here in 2010 to lecture and teach, mostly in Literature. I’ve been a chaplain at Koha since 2012, and feel absolutely privileged to serve at Vic. There’s a heap of things Chaplains do—pastoral care, crisis support, life conversations, and so on; but the heart of my work is making room for others to meet with Jesus, and begin their pilgrimage of trust. God bless.'

'Kia ora all, I'm Mel McKenzie and you can find me at Ramsey House on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I'm the Ecumenical Chaplain at Victoria ("ecumenical" meaning fostering relationships across churches or different denominations). My background is working in politics, as a lawyer in refugee family reunification and community work in the local church, so I'm always up for a yarn about the big issues kicking around or whatever things are facing students at the moment. I get heaps of joy from talking with staff and students about their stories, their passions and what's happening in their spiritual life.'

We recognise the world we live live in is diverse and each of us is spiritually, emotionally and physically unique. Sometimes there are questions or concerns a doctor or anyone else may not be able to address. The chaplaincy is on campus to listen to those concerns. We are here to come alongside and encourage students at this stage of life, as well as offering spiritual support for the staff at Massey.
Many of our campus chaplains are volunteers who willingly give their time to support students. We provide opportunities for learning, dialogue and celebration, as well as a link to faith communities. Our new Sacred Space is in the Well-Being Hub opposite the library. Offering silence, spiritual exercises and spiritual direction to all, Wednesday term time 12:30 – 1:30pm. More details about what's happening at the Massey Chaplaincy Space can be found here. |

The Otago Campus Chaplains offer a ministry of support and care to students of all faiths and none. The chaplains are located in the heart of the campus. The Upper Room is situated on the mezzanine floor of the main Union Building. There is also a multi-faith room for prayer and meditation.
The chaplains are here for you. We believe education should be about the formation of the whole person, body, mind, and soul. We will journey with you as you become more fully the person God has created you to be. We do this through: • Listening to you and caring for you • Providing pastoral counselling during the tough times • Discussing the big questions of life with you • Advocating for you in difficult situations • Offering opportunities to learn about faith and its interface with every part of life • Helping to create a supportive, safe, vibrant campus for you to grow and learn Contact us to find out more! |
